After 7-8.5 months of full-time study on the campus of Maharishi University of Management, our international students undertake up to two years of curricular practical training (CPT) internship — paid full-time employment — at a top US company. You can apply for any IT practical training employment you desire. The University has relationships with many US technology companies including, Microsoft where over 100 of our students are placed, but you can apply for practical training with any other company.
The University’s IT CPT employment specialists will provide support and advice. You are encouraged and expected to take the initiative in obtaining your practical training employment. Our students have been hired by Google, IBM, Sun, Amazon, Oracle, General Electric, Cisco, AT&T Bell Labs, and many other leading US companies.
Valuable on-site training with a US company
Our international students find rewarding IT employment because the need for IT professionals continues to be strong, even in today's economic climate. Our students offer companies many advantages over other IT professionals in the US:
- They are available for shorter projects and find it easier to relocate than others.
- Employers are happy with our students who are working for them. Many employers check with our Career Counseling Office when new positions become available because of the reputation our students have gained.
- Our students are well prepared for the CPT employment market because of the cutting-edge content and practical nature of our courses.
Pay for your tuition through your practical training
With starting salaries averaging US $65,000 - 75,000 per year, international students are easily able to repay the Computer Professionals loan during the two-year practical experience program. This loan is taken out after you are placed in a practical training internship position. No co-signer is required, and the loan is repaid from your earnings while you are employed as a student.
