Increase in hiring makes job search easier

The strength of the IT job market in the U.S. has resulted in unprecedented hiring of our students for practical training jobs. "This is a great time to be an IT professional in the U.S.," reports Recruiting Specialist, Peter Vonderheide. "We are virtually at full employment."

According to a recent article in Business Week, The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that the unemployment rate for computer- and mathematics-related work occupations has steadily declined from 5.4 percent in the second quarter of 2002 to 1.8 percent in the second quarter of 2007. IT professionals in the U.S. are becoming more specialized as more technical jobs are outsourced. Software engineers, IT managers, and network systems engineers have experienced the largest gains for IT jobs in the last year. IT companies are concerned about worsening labor shortages as interest in technical degrees wanes among U.S. students.
